Marcontell, TeamSAI’s Executive Vice-President, presented “Outsourcing Beyond Direct Maintenance” at the 8th Annual Aircraft Maintenance Outsourcing Conference for the Americas, held December 3, 2008 in Atlanta, GA. In an environment marked by cost constraints, airlines are poised to outsource more and more. Mr. Marcontell’s presentation explored the current trend of outsourcing MRO support functions such as maintenance control, AOG purchasing, engineering, planning, inventory management, and technical publications, examining benefits, risks, challenges, and regulatory considerations.
