Prior to joining TeamSAI, David served in technical and executive positions throughout the transportation industry including: Delta Air Lines, The Boeing Company, Airborne Express, North-South Airways, and the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.

David began his career as a Maintenance and Engineering officer with the U.S. Air Force assigned to the C-130 Program Management office at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center.

After serving his country during Operation Desert Storm, David joined Delta Air Lines as a structural liaison engineer and soon after was recognized by the FAA as a Designated Engineering Representative. His responsibilities grew quickly to include Chief Structures Engineer, 757/767 Fleet Manager,  and Manager of Airframe Purchasing for Delta TechOps.

In these capacities, David dramatically improved Delta's 757 and 767 maintenance programs, resulting in a 15% annual incremental cost improvement, while simultaneously incorporating mandated Corrosion Programs. Further, David was instrumental in Delta upgrading its 767 ETOPS authorization from 120 minute to 180 minutes.

Looking for the OEM experience, David joined The Boeing Company as the Manager of Structures for the Everett Service Engineering group responsible for worldwide support of 747, 767 and 777 aircraft. While at Boeing, David's engineering group achieved the highest productivity and customer satisfaction rates of any of the Service Engineering disciplines. Following his tenure at Boeing, David assumed his first executive role as Director of Engineering for Airborne Express. After playing an integral role in the certification and entry into service of the first converted 767 package freighter, David took on a start-up challenge as Vice President Operations for regional freight and passenger charter carrier North-South Airways. In this latter capacity, David's responsibilities were all encompassing to include complete air carrier certification activities, flight operations, maintenance operations, quality and safety, aircraft acquisitions, certificate of airworthiness and human resources of the $20M annual revenue company.

Before becoming a principal and partner at TeamSAI, David expanded beyond the aviation industry into the mass transit arena as the Director of Rail Maintenance for MARTA. While at MARTA David successfully re-organized the division to maintain service levels during a sustained period of continued budget reductions due to local economic conditions. Additionally, David was instrumental in introducing reliability control and life-cycle maintenance concepts to the rolling stock maintenance programs.

He possesses an M.S. Engineering degree from Mercer University with a concentration in operations research and holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia.
